Tours to be organized by Sisu Heritage, Inc
Our unique Finnish-American Homestead Tours offer a unique look at the handcrafted pioneer log farms that were common in Northern MN at the turn of the century. You will begin at the Nelimark Homestead Museum and Gift Shop where locally made merchandise is available for sale. Our guide will get into your vehicle (or lead you in theirs) to various farmsteads. Plan on a 2-3 hour tour of the log homesteads. It is common to see many deer and once in awhile a bear or moose along the way. The perfect backwoods escape! Tour restored Finnish homesteads, log buildings, a church, and the Nelimark Homestead Museum (a Finnish artisan store and museum). Open Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Tours begin at the Nelimark Homestead Museum located at 4839 Salo Road. Tour Cost: $6 Adults $5 Seniors/Large Groups 12 & under free |
